Grade 9 College Prep
Students are to complete the packet of reading comprehension passages and questions that was distributed during the orientation meeting. This will earn a grade of 'C'. To earn a grade of' B', students must read 1 novel of their choice and write an original review. To earn a grade of' A', students must read 2 novels of their choice and write original reviews on each.

Students are to read Crime and Punishment and keep a reader's response journal for each of the 6 parts that consists of (1) the student's individual reaction to the part, (2) two quotes from the chapter and why that quote is influential to that chapter, and (3) identify symbolic and thematic elements that tie the novel together.
